New Trance Collab
After being away from this site for a while, it's high time that I get the collab section more active so heres the new Trance collab!

The idea is we assign different people to make the different parts of the song and to use this thread as a place where we pool it all together.

For this track we need

- Drums - Guesse
- Bassline - DJ K0R3
- Lead line - Dj Gloom
- Atmospheric instruments (pads/strings) - Dj Gloom
- Arrangement - DJ K0R3
- Mixing - Guesse
- Mastering - Guesse

and possibly some vocals...

Sign up now...add your names and let's do this!

RE: New Trance Collab
I'm in! I don't really know which would be my stronger point but I guess I would feel better adding the atmos and working on the lead line. Looking forward to see more users join this work!

Sure man. Would you rather do the drums, bass, mixing or mastering?

RE: New Trance Collab
Sure, I'm up to do whatever you want, would be nice to start talking about the chords and melodies once we know who will participate in this collab

Well, I'm new on mastering, but I could give a try. Re-mixing the song, I can try to do a house song, indie song, electro song... as you want. I can do the drums, if you want.

So... Drums, Master and Mix x)

Okay then dude.

So, here are the things you guys have to do.

Guesse, for the drums, make an .flp file and put all your samples and the .flp file in a .zip file. Also, I'll send you the arranged .flp file so you can mix and master it however you like.

Dj Gloom, post up the .flp file in a .zip file as well and tell me which VST plugins you are using. If I don't have some plugins which you don't have, render the loop into an audio file.

Post your .zip files on Rapidshare or something and put the link in this thread.
OK, now we are sorted, let's get down to thinking of chords and melody lines.

Gloom, since your doing the melodic elements of the song, (Lead line and pads), it is up to you to create the chord progression. When your melody line, Guesse's drums and my bassline are posted, we will each try and fit the elements and the best one will be fine tuned and fully arranged by me. From then on, Guesse will mix and master.

But before we start, let's think about the sound. Will the melody be bright and happy or a bit sad and emotional? Major or minor?

RE: New Trance Collab
For trance, I think Bright and emotional is some sort of good. Minor, my vote.

Kore,
I need to have the melody first and then I'll do the drums

Got the idea... I was thinking about both... make it progressive starting sad and emotional with minor chords, like Cm, G#m bridging F and Bb and then jump to a Major G, F, stuck at A and go back to C major scale with touches of minor chords in the lead (C, D, D#, G, G# and so)

I have this idea in my mind and will transfer it to the Step Sequencer as soon as I get home. Smile

RE: New Trance Collab
Gloom and K0R3, just send me the zip project with the samples when you have the melody ready and I'll set everything up with the drums.

K0R3, are you going to try to sell the music or something?
